- In the aftermath of AIG’s bailout, Neuger was interviewed several times by congressional officials and federal regulators examining AIG’s role in the credit crisis but avoided any sanction.
- [Bonk: Where is this information from? interviews?]
- Matt Taibbi
- 2011 - Book - Griftopia, by Matt Taibbi
- (p113 of 251) - In fact, the situation grew dire enough that by the first week of September, Texas—which was home to some of AIG's biggest subsidiary insurance companies and would have been affected disproportionately if AIG tried to raid those companies' holdings—had drawn up a draft letter outlining its plans to seize control of four AIG subsidiary companies, including American General.
- [Bonk: What direct evidence is there of "plans to seize control"? I've never seen that directly. I have information that would corroborate that. Did Matt Taibbi have a direct conversation with Doug Slape, etc.?
