  • Charles Kingsley Walton - b. 1935- d. 1986 - soa.org///tsa87v3916.pdf - Obituary
    • Charles Kingsley (King) Walton, a Fellow of the Society since 1962 and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, died on October 23, 1986, at age fifty-one. His death resulted from an accident in a sailplane.
    • Mr. Walton was born in Oakville, Ontario, on May 14, 1935. He attended public school in Ottawa and entered the actuarial course at the University of Toronto in 1953, graduating in 1957. He then joined the actuarial staff at Sun Life Assurance Company in Montreal, moving two years later to the Royal Insurance Company in that city. After a brief period at IBM in Australia in 1967 he joined United American Life in Denver and subsequently Surety Life and then Beneficial Life in Salt Lake City.
      • While there he became interested in the Church of Scientology, which ultimately led to his moving to Los Angeles to pursue his studies. From 1975 until his death, he was a highly respected consulting actuary in California.
    • Mr. Walton was a free spirit who loved life. He was an accomplished skier, an inveterate hiker and an experienced glider pilot. He was a man who exuded positivism and never spoke ill of anyone. He is survived by his wife, Peggy and two sons. He is missed by those
who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.
